Some of the general rules governing the non requirement of IELTS scores are that students are either native English speakers; or, students hailing from non-English countries have received formal degree education of three or more consecutive years in English.

Besides, students who have completed either an O-Level or A-level examination also earn an IELTS exemption. Individual universities have their own set of exemptions and requirements to prove applicant's English language proficiency.



The following is a list of universities in Canada that offer this exemption:

 *Concordia University:

Concordia University is a public comprehensive university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Founded in 1974 .Concordia is one of the three universities  in Quebec where English is the primary language of instruction.As of the 2014-2015 academic  year, there were 46,378 students enrolled at Concordia, making the university among the  largest in Canada by enrolment.

*University of Regina:

The University of Regina is a public research university located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Founded in 1911. The University of Regina has an enrollment of over  12,000 full and part-time students.
